I’m a bit late commenting on a 2008 vid. Other than better ground/grind you should tamp the non-pressurized portafilter.

Its a long story. If you go on the internet and learn more about espresso, you will understand why.

You ****. You need to grind your coffee much finer for non pressurized. N00b

Why would anybody wonted to do this?

Easiest way to turn the pressurized portafilter into a non-pressurized one: Unscrew the three screws on the bottom, open the filter, remove the little spring.

You need to use finer coffee. Pre ground just won’t cut it.
