We started Barista Basics in 2003. We now have amazing city barista class training rooms in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. We have owned a coffee roaster, four cafes, created the world’s first coffee art class, written Australia’s first text book on the art of coffee making and consulted to some of Australia’s largest coffee companies and franchise groups. We bring this knowledge to our coffee classes with you and we have backed up this up by gaining RTO status and TAFE Accreditation for our coffee courses. I had the honor and pleasure of spending time with Eric Perkunder, developer of the Slayer espresso machine — The world’s most talked about and desired espresso machine. As a Starbucks barista, this was quite a treat. Eric said my shots came out very well balanced, but didn’t quite achieve the level of bright acidity that his did.
