Does Starbucks use automated machines like in McD’s or Dunkin Donuts to make their coffe drinks?

epic_laydown asked:

if not, do you ever think they’ll switch. If they do use them, would they taste the same as in mcd’s and other places that use them

No. Most people who spend the extra to go to a place like starbucks can taste the difference!

If they switched – it would kill their business.

    Actually, yes they do.

The machines grind the bean, tamp the espresso, then pull the shot for the the “Barista” then an automated wand steam the milk for them (normally steamed over and over again) and then they will attempt to create something that resembles a real late’ or cappuccino. I do not know about McD’s or dunkin donuts, the ones near me do not have espresso machines which I have noticed.

For drip coffee, if you like burnt beans robbed of their highlights and undertones. If you like stale coffee which has sat in a warehouse waiting to be shipped, then by all means indulge in the Big Green Monster.

But, if you want a real cup of coffee or a coffee drink go support your local independent coffee shop and bask in the glory of all that is real, quality coffee.

no, those machines just make cappucino or hot chocolate by running hot water through a container of drink mix. starbucks and other coffeeshops use actual coffee, syrup, milk etc. that’s why you’re able to customize your drink, with flavored syrups, different kinds of milk, or decaf coffee. and thats also why people come to starbucks again and again, you can get *exactly* what you want and it always tastes great.
