Put even just $20 a month into a separate savings account or RRSP account, and leave it there and forget about it- pretty much the “pay yourself first” rule. That way you don’t have it handy to spend on anything, and you’ll be forced to make do with what you have. Sooner or later you’ll have a decent amount of money in there to invest.

Sounds like your’s may be an income challenge and not a spending challenge.

Make a budget. It’s a dirty word for some people but you will not win with money without one. Give every dollar a name and you will see some amazing things where the money is and isn’t going. Track everything. It will take some time but you will get a handle on where the waste is and where to cut. Make the cut and stash the difference in your savings.

buy generic brands of food, put away 20 dollars every time you get paid into ur checking account and let it build, if you don’t need it then don’t buy it, set a goal of what you want to use the money for and let that be your motivation
