How do you remove tea stains from clothing?
James аѕkеd:
I spilled tea οn mу shirt a few days ago аnd саn’t gеt thе stain out. It wаѕ green tea, аnd I didn’t gеt tο wash fοr аbουt 2 days аftеr I spilled thе tea. Sο far, I οnlу tried washing іt οn thе hand-washable setting οn thе washing machine іn сοld water wіth All detergent аnd Downy fabric softener. I dіd nοt рυt іt іn thе dryer, I lеt іt hang tο dry. I’m afraid tο try anythin еlѕе bесаυѕе I rυіnеd a shirt bу using a Tide-tο-gο pen.

With stains always use the harshest setting.
Add oxy formula to the wash with regular detergent.
I can use stain spray or stain stick.
M30 or Goop Hand Cleaner can work.
I have also used put the oxi formula directly on the stain after using stain spray.
If all else fails, beach it.
This may sound strange, but a wonderful pre-wash stain remover I’ve found is Greased Lightening.
Since you’ve not run the shirt through the dryer, it’s not set in yet, so try spraying Greased Lightening on the stain, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then wash on your regular cycle as you normally would.
I’ve done this for hard to get out stains and it’s never failed me.
Good luck!
Try Shout.
I buy LOTS of clothes at thrift stores both to wear and to sew with recycled fabic. I often buy things that are stained with who knows what who knows how long ago and am a stain removing master (mistress???). Partly because I don’t care if I damage the garment because I got it for close to nothing (local thrift store sells a grocery bag full of clothing for $5).
The best thing I’ve ever used for general stains on garments is Shout. I prefer the kind with the pop-up top, I apply it directly to the stain, rub it in a little, wait about 15 minutes and launder with a regular load of laundry. I dry the garment on a hanger (the dryer will set the stain) and retreat it if necessary. Sometimes they need to be retreated 2 or more times.
If you shirt is cotton / polyester blend, you may not be able to get the stain out. The polyester really hangs onto stains.
I was once able to get three month old rust stains out of my favorite white dress shirts…they were in the dryer while I was recovering from and accident and by the time I got to them the stains were really bad. I tried everything I could think of, including rust remover, then started combining products on them. I finally found one combination that worked…it actually caused visible smoke/steam to rise (which I avoided breathing) but the stain magically disseapeared and I got years more use out of those shirts…!
